I guess I should start here.
2020 really squashed my goals of trying new places to eat. I mean, it was still possible but taking pictures at home with take out dishes… they just didn’t do it for me. It got to the point where I even stopped getting on my Instagram cause I just couldn’t. The pandemic has changed this world in so many ways in the last 10 months, and it’s crazy to think it’s already been that long!
On my personal blogs every year, I talk about my One Little Word; it’s a word that sets the intention of the year. And in 2021, my word is courage.
It applies here as well; I want the courage to cook more. To cook new things. To try cooking new things that I was too afraid to try. I want the courage to follow a recipe step by step instead of doubting myself and giving up, therefore failing.
I want the courage to bake again. To make and experiment with making chocolate truffles, like the kind I ooh and ahh over in chocolate shops. The courage to include myself more in my food pics and not have it be just food all the time. The courage to go above and beyond when taking food photos.
And the courage to truly work on my food styling and food photography.
I spent 2019 and 2020 scared. For many reasons. And wishing I hadn’t been so scared to do X, Y and Z. In the end all it did was hurt me and trapped me in this little box that I set for myself. And I’m not the type of person to ever be set inside a box.
So here to 2021, to blogging more, discovering more and making more!
